The Lifestyle That Begins with Communion

Night Rainbow_edited.jpg

Ingredients:

1 Cup Amaranth Flour

1 TBS Honey

1 TBS Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/2 TSP Rosemary Ground Spice

1/2 TSP Thyme Ground Spice

1 TSP Sea Salt

1 TSP Baking Soda

1 TSP Cream of Tartar

1/2 TSP Active Dry Yeast

2/3 Cup of Water

Requires 1 Copper Baking Sheet (or Pan), Baking Pan, and Oven

Directions:

Lay Copper Sheet over Baking Pan

In warm water (1/2 Cup), add Active Dry Yeast and Honey, allow it to sit for 10-15, until foam in a small cup (Can also microwave for 20 seconds and allow it to sit). Add all ingredients into a bowl, ensuring that the dough mixture is somewhat viscous. The consistency really matters. The less water, the crispier, but more water will allow the texture to feel like soft unleavened bread, which is ideal for communion. Stir/Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.

Scrape out mixture onto copper sheet, spread evenly. Allow the dough to proof (sit fermenting) at 120°F for 1 hour in the oven prior to baking. Once dough is proofed, bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

You can either use a knife to break the bread into pieces, or just break it with your hands, which is more traditional.

Use no added sugar grape juice, balsamic vinegar, or red wine vinegar for wine substitute.

Communion is only for believers in Christ. Outside of baptism, it is one of the most identifiable practices that we do, but unless we are eating for our health, we inhibit our body from functioning properly in an attempt to connect with God. Jesus' is the living bread that came down from heaven. John 6:54-56 "Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood will have eternal life...abides in me, and I in him." The breaking of bread symbolizes the breaking of Jesus' body, and his blood symbolizes the shedding of God's blood as a the sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins so that we may have eternal life. Jesus lived the perfect life that we were supposed to lived, and died the death we were all condemned to die. God created salvation for us all by himself because he loves us, and offered His one and only beloved Son as the only true perfect sacrifice that could atone for our sins.

Set the Intention: Believe in a Dream that requires you to be in your Best Health

Set Goals to Achieve Your Dreams

For Starters, the best commitment you can make before you even begin is dreaming up a goal that requires your best health to achieve! We do not come onto this earth just to lose weight, make money, and die. Every time you believe you are slipping on your diet, you can always refocus on the bigger picture of what is more important for you. The taste of addictive foods, or your health.

Break free from the system, know that Jesus has your back and leave the past behind you! He died for us, He suffered for us, and no amount of suffering that we will endure will ever surmount to what He had to go through. He died for the forgiveness of our sins, and He also gave His life so you could break free from the shackles of substance abuse. Forgive yourself! Forgive your loved ones and also forgive your enemies. We should not have to carry the burden of suffering, that is why Jesus had to carry His own cross to be crucified, so you could live for Him! Jesus is the Greatest, He is King.

Always Live for Christ.

Music is the Drug

Seems strange to tie one to the other, but more people collapse on their diet when consuming alcohol on a "moderate" basis. Alcohol is the gateway drug, and will have you believing in the lie of moderation.

The truth is you need to commit to a lifestyle change, but your body is going to crave sugar and falling back into old habits. The body's natural ability to create its own natural blood sugar by becoming a fat burning machine. Mistakes are costly, and moderation can set you back days. Forgiveness is your power to move forward, stay true to yourself. Stay focused on your goals, this is your individual path. You have the choice of everything you are consuming, including alcohol.

Live above the influence. Music is the Drug.

Staying One Step Ahead

"Put one foot in front of the other," and never look back. Stay focused, have food and snacks readily available. When cooking meat, think in terms of days. Be sure to have enough vegetables in place to fill you. A saving grace you may find is to stockpile on nuts.

I am a Nut for Nuts. I will use nuts as a crutch frequently to supply my body with enough energy to make it to the next meal. Nuts fall into the "Plant Fat" category. Aside from cooking oils, I find it rather difficult to consume enough plant fats. Nuts will not break down into sugar and stop your ketosis, rather, it will boost your metabolism to break down body fat and allow your metabolism to work longer due to its high caloric density.

Breakfast is the Key to Success

More often then not, many people that neglect to eat breakfast will struggle with this diet. We cannot expect to continue on with the marathon called life if we are not properly fueled for the journey. Eating a well-balanced breakfast is the key to life (which is also the symbol of the ankh). Breakfast sets the tone for the entire day. I will eat the same breakfast every day, it's my favorite and my go-to. You must make the time to prepare, eat, and clean up breakfast.

It's no wonder many say, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

Family Dieting

I believe in family dieting. Those who eat together, stay together, and are in communion with one another. Growing together is an important aspect for any relationship, as we will reinvent ourselves multiple times over the course of a relationship. That's not to say that we will always enjoy the same foods all the time, but communication is enhanced when sharing the same food. Eating properly consistently may also be one of the most difficult tasks you will ever do in your life, and can be made easier with a partner at hand. Of course we could just do it alone, but what's the fun in that if we can't share the experience?!

The pathway to the heart can be found by feeding yours truly with food that is good for their soul. Thinking ahead and helping your partner will allow your relationship to thrive, and you two will have the understanding that you are taking care of not only yourself, but your sweetheart as well.

The Cooking & Produce section will have options of the perfect breakfast.

Frozen Fruit for the Win

Frozen Fruit is always readily available when you need it! Yes, you will have some cravings to consume sugar every so often, but you can curb this craving with natural fruit. Consider buying organic fruit, as fruits are much more susceptible for absorbing pesticides. Consider eating fruit as a way to curb your appetite or a treat instead of being consumed on a daily basis. It is technically still a sugar, and although your ketosis will not backtrack, you can use this as a means to plateau for the day if the cravings are unbearable. Also consider eating fruit at night instead of during the morning or day, especially if you are wanting to be in ketosis longer to burn more fat.

Do treat yourself! This is a marathon called your life, so enjoy it! Enjoy it at least once a week. My suggestion is to eat a large bowl of frozen blueberries mixed with dry roasted almonds. I prefer the texture of frozen blueberries compared to regular, and as an added health bonus, it is loaded with antioxidants.

Gratitude is the Best Attitude

Start off by praying before your meals, whether you eat alone or with your partner or family. This will allow you to stay focused on your goals and experience gratitude. Give thanks to God, for your food, for your health, for your relationships, your family, and for yourself. Do this to remember Jesus.
